Workshop 1, Friday, March 27, (17-21h)  

What is Journalism? Why mastering Interviewing is at the heart of the journalism craft?

  • What is a journalism story, what sets it apart from other types of storytelling?

  • The art of interviewing: the posture, the techniques and the logistics 

  • Dos and Don'ts

  • Understanding interview formats 

  • Prepping up for next day’s interview: group discussion

  • Final tips 

→ you’ve prepared for the Q&A session and pitch a provisional angle.

Workshop 2, Saturday, March 28 (13h-17h)

Live Q&A + Battle of angles.

  • Quick setup before interview 

  • Live Q&A: group interviews of an iconic Berlin artist - circa 60 minutes  

  • Group debrief

  • Battle of angles: share your takes, choose perspective 

  • Nail your own angle, pick a format 

  • Pitch! (and compare to your original take)  

  • Final tips on how to transcribe, edit and build your story

→ you have conducted the interview and have enough material to start writing your own feature.
